Behind the Music
Elizabeth Ward
is a down to earth singer/ songwriter who got her start performing folk, country, and bluegrass music in the hills of northeast Tennessee. With a Bachelor of Arts in Bluegrass, Old time, & Country Music Studies, she has spent her early music career performing with various Bluegrass and Country bands in cities like that of Johnson City, TN and Asheville, NC.
She has played at many venues through her music journey - including The Paramount Theatre in Bristol, TN, Tin Roof in Orlando, FL, the Lake Lure Arts and Crafts Festival in Lake Lure, NC, and at the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, TN. Elizabeth has been featured in Florida's Winter Garden Magazine and has been featured in multiple interviews with WPRK 91.5's "State of the Scene" show with Frankie Messina - as well as a few other interviews and podcasts.
She currently resides in central Florida where she performs both solo and with bands at local venues. Her repertoire includes originals and covers in a style best described as Americana.
She pairs her voice with just a guitar and on occasion, a ukulele. She holds a powerful presence on stage. With two albums down, some describe her music as "Tennessee Soul". Elizabeth’s music and songwriting are comparable to that of singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, Alanis Morrissette, and Joni Mitchell and holds influences from artists such as Gillian Welch and Ingrid Michaelson, as well. Her unique vocals are what carry this musician, however, and show off her time studying country artists like Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline.
Paired perfectly with an ice cold beer, her music will take you to another world guaranteed to invigorate the soul.
